An action RPG journey through Auroria

ArcheAge Chronicles is an open-world action MMORPG from XLGAMES, set in Auroria 50 years after the original ArcheAge. You begin as an explorer working with a trading company, following a story of ancient ruins, an airship disaster and the people drawn into its aftermath.

The journey combines quests and exploration with active weapon combat. Dodging, blocking, parrying and choosing when to attack matter alongside your character's equipment and skills. Away from battle, the game also brings gathering, crafting, housing and trade into pioneer life.

Get ready for the Steam launch

  1. Open the official Steam listing for ArcheAge Chronicles. Check the Windows requirements against your PC, then use the store to purchase or wishlist the game.
  2. Choose a class by the combat you enjoy. Compare its available weapons together: the class you select offers contrasting ways to fight, rather than a single fixed weapon style.
  3. Begin with the opening story and practice your weapon attacks, dodge and guard. Learn the timing of enemy attacks before committing to long attack sequences.
  4. Explore beyond the main road. Look for Nui Tears and bring them to a Nui Statue to increase maximum HP; seek field bosses and dungeons when you want a tougher encounter.

Choose the combat style you want to learn

Class and weaponsWhat to expect
Warrior — Longsword and GreatswordTimed parries and counters, with a heavy melee alternative.
Ranger — Hatchet and LongbowFast close combat or archery from a distance.
Berserker — Axe and Shield, WarhammerAggressive melee with defensive tools and heavy strikes.
Mage — Elemental Staff and WaveswordRanged elemental casting or frost attacks in melee.

Start with the class whose attacks and defenses appeal to you. The class guides explain the weapon mechanics and how each style handles a fight, while the combat guide covers the shared foundations. Pick a playstyle you want to practice before worrying about a damage ranking.

Explore, build and adventure with friends

Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains make up the announced Early Access regions. Story quests give your travels direction, while bosses and discoveries give you reasons to venture farther into Auroria.

Instanced dungeons can be attempted solo or in a party of up to four, and quest progress is shared inside. Group play gives friends a way to tackle the same encounter together; solo players can also take on the challenge themselves.

Gathering, crafting, farming and housing broaden the adventure beyond fighting. Use the life-skills and housing guides to see how these activities fit into the game, then turn to the progression guide for attributes, weapon traits and exploration rewards.
