01

Choose your channel around the fights you want

Peace channels disable attacks between players, while Conflict channels let you attack players outside your party and guild. Both retain the same quests and monsters, so choose Peace for adventure without player attacks or Conflict when you want PvP alongside those activities.

For a session focused on exploration or learning a difficult encounter, Peace is the straightforward recommendation. If fighting other adventurers is part of the attraction, consider Conflict. Agree on that preference with your friends before setting out so your group shares the same expectations.

02

What changes when you enter Conflict

Conflict changes who can attack you rather than replacing your questing activities. Players outside your own party and guild become potential opponents, while the quests and monsters remain the same. Peace keeps those player attacks disabled, making it the appropriate choice when you want to concentrate on the world around you.

The published PvP rules describe an additional 10–15% experience from monster kills in PvP channels. That bonus applies to fighting monsters rather than killing players. Treat it as an incentive to accept possible player encounters while adventuring, rather than a reason to seek player kills for extra experience.

Weigh that experience bonus against how you want to spend your session. If interruptions would make a quest or exploration trip frustrating, choose Peace. If you enjoy reacting to other players while pursuing your regular objectives, Conflict is a better match for that preference.

03

Plan your next channel move

  1. Choose Peace if your immediate goal is questing or exploration without attacks from other players. This lets you pursue those activities while player attacks remain disabled.
  2. Choose Conflict if you want player encounters alongside the same quests and monsters. Players outside your party and guild can become opponents there.
  3. Switch channels at a Nui Statue when you want to change that choice. Switching has a cooldown, so make the move with a destination and activity in mind.
  4. Use the announced option to move directly to your party leader’s channel when regrouping for Early Access adventures. This gives separated friends a concrete way to gather on the leader’s channel.

Keep friends together across channels and dungeons

XLGAMES’ October 29 update announces that party invitations work across Peace and Conflict Channels and that parties stay together across them. It also adds direct movement to the party leader’s channel. These are announced Early Access improvements, so an older demo experience with separated party members does not describe the intended launch behavior.

Dungeons are instanced for you alone or a party of up to four, with quest progress shared inside. Before entering, agree whether the group wants a shared dungeon run or separate solo attempts. For a cooperative session, gather your party and use the leader’s channel as your meeting point.

The Early Access improvements also preserve dungeon and instance progress after a disconnect across the Early Access regions. Some sections previously restricted to solo play now support parties. That change applies to some sections, so plan around the party options available in the section you are entering.

05

Pick a PvE objective alongside your channel choice

You can pursue exploration, quests, points of interest, world bosses and instanced dungeons without choosing a PvP channel for your regular activities. If your group wants to adventure together without player attacks, choose Peace and then select an objective everyone wants to tackle. PvP is a choice alongside those activities.

For a combat objective, consider a dungeon or a field boss. Field bosses roam the open world and drop gear, including accessories, alongside exclusive crafting materials. Dungeons offer a separate instance with shared quest progress for your party, giving friends a clear cooperative destination.

For a change of pace, the announced Early Access content also includes raids, guild and company activities, crafting and housing. Choose an activity that fits the session your group wants. There is no need to make player combat the focus simply because you are planning to play with others.

06

Separate demo access from Early Access plans

The Steam Next Fest demo has ended. During that demo, PvP access was deliberately available earlier than usual: players could enter a PvP channel after leaving the first town and reaching the Nui Statue at their next destination. Treat that route as a demo-specific shortcut when comparing older advice with Early Access.

Combat development continues beyond the announced launch improvements. XLGAMES says a dedicated team will keep adjusting combat throughout Early Access, with ranged soft-lock targeting and party aggro also receiving work. Choose your channel for the encounters you enjoy, and leave room to reassess your approach as those systems evolve.
